Locum Optometrist
Dr. Elise Wilson - Therapeutically Endorsed Optometrist
I am a therapeutically endorsed optometrist with a deep commitment to providing equitable and accessible eye care to all individuals, regardless of postcode, ethnicity, or income. My goal is to ensure that every patient receives high-quality care, regardless of their background or location.
With a strong interest in emergency eye care, childhood myopia management, binocular vision disorders, glaucoma co-management, and the early detection of retinal diseases, I strive to incorporate the latest technologies in diagnosis and treatment. My approach is focused on preventing vision loss through comprehensive screenings, early intervention, and continuous patient education.
I am passionate about strengthening remote multidisciplinary collaboration, particularly in rural areas. Through my work with local healthcare providers, I aim to improve patient outcomes by offering diabetic dilations and screenings in TAZREACH-supported locations in Oatlands and Nubeena, increasing access to essential eye care in underserved communities.
As a consultant at the Royal Hobart Hospital’s Low Vision Clinic, I see firsthand the significant impact of vision loss—many of which are preventable. This experience further fuels my dedication to providing timely, evidence-based care that empowers patients to maintain their quality of life.
Blending clinical expertise with a strong commitment to community outreach, I strive to provide the highest level of care, whether in the city or in remote locations, ensuring that every patient’s eye health is a priority.
